Western Trip 2020, Oct. 17

 October 17, 2020

Drive from Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma, to West Memphis, Arkansas.

We left before daybreak this morning in order to get to our park on the Mississippi by lunch.  We wanted to spend the afternoon just watching the tugboats pushing the barges up and down the river.

We were almost to Arkansas by the time the sun came up.

It was so windy this afternoon that this guy had a hard time with his wind surfing kite.

I had to sit close to the RV because the wind was so cold coming in from the river.  This little guy evidently wanted out of the wind, too.  He joined me while I was knitting.  As long as he stayed over there, I was ok.
The tug boats push their loads up and down the mighty Mississippi all night long.

It's been a relaxing afternoon even if it was cold outside.  Tomorrow night we'll be in Cumberland Mountain State Park in Tennessee.
