July 13
We unhooked the "Little House" and went downtown Valdez to see what else it offered. I must say, the beautiful landscape and the harbor are its most attractive features. We ate lunch and did a little shopping. We also stopped at the Visitors' Center where Paul bought some smoked salmon.

An Alaskan Brown Bear |
We had talked last night about the possibility of heading on down the road instead of staying another night at our RV park where we already had reservations. After driving down the Dayville Road and NOT seeing all the bears fishing for salmon that we were supposed to see, we made our final decision to head on out. We're the adventurous type (as if you haven't already guessed that) and thought we'd try our hand at boon docking somewhere unknown about halfway to our next destination. So, off we went. The drive back out of Valdez was beautiful even though it was overcast and cloudy. Again, we realized how blessed we were to have a beautiful sunny day for our cruise.
This is a small waterfall near Solomon Gultch on the Dayville Road where the cannery is located and supposedly had all the bears.
More views of Horsetail and Bridal Veil Falls.
Worthington Glacier
Almost 140 miles from Valdez we saw this guy out in a marsh while we were looking a camping spot for the night.
Just past this moose down the road a ways we found it. (After trying a couple of other spots on the road that weren't right for boon docking.)
We love our "Little House" and the places it can go. These pictures were taken this morning, and it is so cloudy you can't even see that beautiful mountain that we saw yesterday when we drove in. We have a short ride this morning to our park in Tok.
