Yukon to Sawmill Point to Stewart, BC via Cassiar Hwy (Post # 31)

July 17-18
We have had an adventurous two days!  The Cassiar Highway proved to be everything they said it would be:  narrow, no shoulders and steep drop-offs, construction, gravel, and BEAUTIFUL!  I'm going to let the pictures do the most talking because we are "borrowing" internet from a restaurant where we had lunch here in Stewart, Canada.  It seems like longer than just a couple days ago that we left the Yukon.

First bear sighting--still in the Yukon.

 The Cassiar Highway begins!

Our lunch spot for day one.

We found this gem of a spot to boondock at Sawmill Point right on Dease Lake.

It doesn't get much better than this!

Second bear sighting on the Cassiar.

Fourth bear sighting (didn't get a picture of # 3).  There are several shots of this one because she scampered up a tree, almost like she was saying, "Look what I can do!"

 Bear Glacier

 Fifth bear sighting.

We decided to stop in Stewart, Canada for the night and go into Hyder, Alaska in the morning.  Please remember we are without phone service (such a remote place) and internet connection.
