Day 4, June 6th-Janesville, WI to Fargo, ND

Well, we finally made it to Fargo, North Dakota.

It has been a very long day with lots of miles. We started our morning in Janesville, WI.  This is what we faced as we left Wisconsin.  We pulled off one time. (Yes, Paul actually pulled off the road to left the wind and rain die down.) (Jackie)

We drove to Minnesota, only to go back into Wisconsin to visit Laura Ingall's birthplace in Pepin, also known as "The Little House in the Big Woods." After leaving Pepin, WI we drove to Walnut Grove, MN to visit Laura Ingall's childhood home. We passed by Mankato and drove through Sleepy Eye. It was very interesting walking through all the buildings that are replicas of how the Ingall's family lived. We then started off toward South Dakota.

Wow, is the only word to describe South Dakota.

You could see for miles and miles with nothing but rolling green hills and little specs that were horses and cows. We could go ten miles at a time in between houses before seeing another one. We drove for almost a hundred and fifty miles from South Dakota to North Dakota just so we could say, we have been to North Dakota. We are headed back down the same highway tomorrow into South Dakota to visit De Smet (another home place of the Ingall's family) the Badlands National Park and Mount Rushmore. We are very tired from a 14 hour drive today and we are looking forward to a good night's rest. Daddy has done a wonderful job with the driving so far and he will not let anyone else drive. Autumn is feeling better and we are very excited to move into another day of vacation! We miss everyone back at home and we pray that you are all well. Keep praying for our safety. We love you all!

God Bless!
Charity
