Redmond, OR, to Everett, Washington

We got another "very early" morning start today and bid the moon goodbye as we left the resort.

One last look at this beautiful sight.
We hadn't seen it quite like this with the contrasting colors.
We think this is Mount Jefferson in the Cascade Range.
We had to take a different route than Paul's original road he'd mapped out due to snow on the roads.  It was mandatory to have either snow chains or snow tires.  Since we had neither, we took a longer way around.  That's okay, though, because it allowed us to see this pretty sight.  There were several in the area.

And no, this isn't Albuquerque, NM.  (been there and done that, though)   It was in a little town called Madras.

Another turn off of the main road lead us to the first of several waterfalls.   This is the first one.

The next one was much taller and absolutely beautiful, and the hike up to it was nothing like the one we hiked up in Maui!   Thanks, Barb, for the heads-up (no pun intended) to get off the main road and see this one!

Our last main attraction for the day was Mount Rainier in Washington.  First, we drove around Mount St. Helens but couldn't get a picture of it.  Then, we drove many miles out of the way to get to Mount Rainer only to find out there weren't too many good shots of it either.  But the pictures we did get, the ride through the national park, and the opportunity to see it close up were worth the trip.

This one below was taken from much further away.  Beautiful, huh?

Then to leave the scenes from above to this conglomeration of traffic coming around Seattle!

We saw many accidents, and traffic was held up in both directions for long waiting times, not to mention it was Friday and 5:00.
.

We feel so blessed to have driven this many miles without any incidents whatsoever.  The extra miles around Mt. St. Helens and up to Mt. Rainier, plus the extra time in traffic, made for a long day and two very weary bodies.

And then we came across these sights.  Rest for our eyes and for our souls.
Thank You, Jesus, for all Your blessings.

Now it's time for rest for our bodies.  This is the view from our hotel in downtown Everett.
Goodnight, all.
